Dr. Joana Forsea, DDS

Dr. Joana Forsea is the current Chief of Orthodontics at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and has been passionate about Craniofacial Orthodontics ever since her time working with Dr. Barry Grayson at NYU.

“It has always been a passion of mine since dental school and my orthodontic residency at NYU to help recreate the part of our body that is crucial for our ability to connect and relate to others. Our face is the one most important aspect that expresses how we feel and think in a split second. Our face truly is the epitome of “a picture says a thousand words.”

“I am fortunate and honored to be a small part of an admirable team, NextGenFace, whose members are compassionate, capable, and committed. The patient, their families and their quality of life is our focus. That is our driving force behind our state-of-the-art evidence based premier interdisciplinary approaches to treatment.”

“Patients with craniofacial anomalies require orthodontic interventions at many moments during their growth and development. I am lucky to be able to follow their progress throughout their lives. As an orthodontist, I see them at birth while performing Naso-alveolar molding; I see them during childhood for palatal expansion; during adolescence for their braces, and the as adults in preparation for their orthognathic surgery. I find this immensely rewarding.”
