Lawrence E. Brecht, DDS

LAWRENCE E. BRECHT, DDS, is Director of Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Lenox Hill Hospital, Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Brecht received his BA from Columbia and his DDS from NYU. He completed residency training at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and a Fellowship at Harvard followed by prosthodontic and maxillofacial prosthetics specialty training at the Manhattan VA Medical Center. Dr. Brecht joined the faculty of NYU College of Dentistry where he is the Director of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. In addition, for 25 years, he served as the Director of Craniofacial Prosthetics at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU. In 2017 he took his current position at Lenox Hill/Northwell. Dr. Brecht’s expertise is in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics. He is one of the earliest pioneers of nasoalveolar molding (NAM) for infant cleft care and part of the team that developed the “Jaw-in-a-Day” technique for total jaw reconstruction in one operation.
